A parenthesis (singular) is another tricky punctuation mark.
Parentheses (plural) are used more commonly than hyphens, dashes, and brackets, yet they kind of serve the same purpose: they add information to an already complete statement or question.
Parentheses enclose and clarify information. The curved marks go around sentences, words, phrases, and even numbers.
The next time you're writing a sentence (or question) that involves the use of parentheses, make sure any additional information is enclosed within the punctuation marks to further clarify your thought(s).
