Happy Thursday, good people!

Today's blog post will not be about writing or grammar, but it will ironically be about words. Four words. The four words I repeat to help me deal with anxiety: LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT.

Life is hard. I get it! I'm currently dealing with a lot of worry, stress, anxiety, and so on, but I'm choosing to keep the faith. And not just any faith, but I'm choosing to keep my faith in Jesus Christ.

Keeping the faith teaches me how to be obedient to what Jesus requires of me (and all those who believe in Him). One thing He requires is to "...lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..." (Hebrews 12:1-2)

There's not much to say after you quote the bible, but I would like to encourage you to give your problems to God. What do I mean by that? I mean, every situation, circumstance, tragedy, concern and/or worry that may be weighing you down emotionally, spiritually, mentally and/or physically...

  • Talk to Jesus about it (if you have to cry about it, do that too)
  • Transition your thinking to be more dependent knowing that you're ultimately not in control, and have faith in the one who is in control (Jesus)
  • Use the energy that you would've used to worry to pray that God's PERFECT will be done
  • Serve someone else in need because it takes the focus off of you

I love every single person reading this post. More importantly, Jesus loves you and is diligently working on your behalf.
